Ligature Logos

What is a ligature logo?
A ligature logo is the blending of two or more letters into one and is made up of letters that are tied together to make a compact signature. They are perfect for companies that are known mainly by their initials.
How would describe the corporate identity of ESMA in 5 words?
-broad
-passion filled
-creative
-energetic
-diverse
Which logo out of the two do you feel is the strongest and why?
I feel as though my strongest logo is my first logo. Although I like the second one, I feel that my first logo works better with epic records and what they are about. I believe that the font and the shape of the logo itself really reflect ESMA and Epic Records.
If you had no requirements or restrictions how would your logo look different?
If there were no requirements, my logo would have been structured differently, and have many more features added to it. I believe my logo would be more creative due to the lack of requirements for the logo.
Explain which ligature techniques you have demonstrated on each logo:
In the first logos, I used horizontal crossbars connecting the E, S and M. Then I used horizontal crossbars again to connect the M and the A. I also used interlock between the S and the M. I used the technique building bridges to fill in the space between the M and the A. In the second logo, I used overlay between all of the letters. I also used crop to cut off a section of the bottom of the letters. In addition, I used horizontal crossbars between the e and the s.
